Chill Corner is a Free To Play little slice of relaxation heaven, even when you are doing anything but relaxing. The perfectly passive gaming experience where you just listen to soothing Lo-Fi music while also gaining points to spruce up your little corner as you go.
This is a unique laid-back style of gaming. There are no puzzles to solve, no bosses to fight, not a shred of potential failure in sight, just peaceful tunes and cute decorations. That’s not to say Chill Corner doesn’t come with a few flaws or frustrations of course, but the game is also a current work in progress as well. For instance, there’s not a ton of customization options unfortunately, and within the rooms anything that is already there is immovable. Hopefully in the future when you buy a different color bed there will be a way to replace the current one that’s already there by default. There are also a few glitches here and there like the pet getting stuck on nothing while walking around or your character appearing in the wrong position for your chosen room, but again all things that can be easily ironed out.
Everything else about the game is chill city though. I love that you can change the weather to add in rain sounds or birds chirping. The little timer for time management is a nice addition and helps remind you to take breaks and such. There’s a robust playlist available as well so you won’t be listening to the same songs over and over again, but even if you do start hitting replays you can purchase more playlists for just a few dollars. Given that the base game itself is free I don’t see a problem paying a few bucks for some of the extras either, which includes things like character models, outfits, decorations, or pets.
Since it’s free you’ve got nothing to lose by giving Chill Corner a fair shake, especially if you’re in the market for some smooth catchy music to have on in the background while you work, study, cook, or just unwind with a cup of tea at the end of the day.
If you’re interested in a Chill Corner of your very own you can find it on Steam.
